We are pleased to announce an internal job opportunity at Child Development Resources (CDR) for a Data Analyst in our VA Infant & Toddler Specialist Network. This position supports the VA ITSN work with the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) and its statewide quality measurement and improvement program, Virginia Quality Birth to Five System (VQB5). In this role, you’ll turn data into actionable insights that guide decision-making, support program quality, and ultimately help young children thrive.
Essential Functions:

Conduct VA ITSN Data Analysis, Reporting, and Quality Assurance

Build, maintain, and update electronic compilations of all Network coaching service agreements

Analyze CLASS® observation data to identify trends, patterns, and relationships across Network-served early childhood sites
-
Validate primary qualifiers for coaching services, site quality ratings, and CLASS® scores, as needed
-
Link components of merged records to ensure that no data is lost, and that appropriate information is available for data analysis

Analyze database reports, covering the primary areas of productivity, classroom coaching, child coaching, technical assistance, and training for accuracy for regional staff

Ensure data integrity through consistent data cleaning, and the identification, communication, and resolution of data-related errors

Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations, responsive to VDOE requests and tailored to VQB5 metrics and priorities

Compile data and complete monthly data reports, monthly summary data visuals, mid-year and end-of-year reporting, grant applications, in compliance with VDOE requirements

Maintain a deep understanding of VQB5 program frameworks and how CLASS® observations, interactions, and data align with its goals and expectations

Collaborate with VA ITSN Central Office team to translate data insights into actionable recommendations

Serve as the CLASS expert for the Network Central Office

Complete and maintain certification in Infant and Toddler CLASS tools.

Participate in local, state, and national meetings and conferences as needed

Comply with VA ITSN program and procedures guide and grant requirements

Conduct data analysis, reporting, and quality assurance for VA ITSN
Minimum Requirements:
-
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Data Analytics, Statistics, Business, or a related field

Minimum of two years, with five years of experience or combination of training and experience preferred

Well-versed in collecting and analyzing data using a variety of research methods

Knowledge of data quality assurance techniques and procedures, and basic statistical formulas

Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
-
Demonstrated experience in data analysis, preferably within early childhood education settings
-
Proficiency with data entry tools (e.g., Excel, Airtable) and data visualizations (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
-
Ability to also perform diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive data analytics
-
Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills to explain complex data to non-technical audiences
Preferred Requirements:

Master’s degree

Strong familiarity with CLASS® framework, CLASS® quantitative research, and VQB5 system
-
Active certification of CLASS® Infant and Toddler tools

Experience working with education or program evaluation data

Understanding of early childhood development frameworks and quality improvement systems
