Position Overview
We are looking for a Data Engineer who is eager to build, learn, and contribute to a growing organization. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines that support healthcare analytics and business intelligence initiatives. You will work with large and complex datasets from diverse healthcare systems, including Electronic Health Records (EHR), claims data, medical imaging, and patient-generated data. This position is key to ensuring data accessibility, quality, and security across the organization.
You will sit on the Data Management and Reporting team, which owns everything from tracking KPIs to data onboarding. You will work cross-functionally with teams across the company, including operations, finance, patient growth, and integration.

Key Responsibilities:
Data Pipeline Development:
- Design, implement, and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to extract data from a variety of healthcare sources, including EHR systems, claims databases, and third-party APIs.
- Build and maintain scalable, automated data pipelines that integrate clinical, operational, and financial data for analysis and reporting.
- Standardize data collection and reporting processes across new and existing clinics
- Ensure the efficient transfer, storage, and processing of large volumes of healthcare data in a secure and HIPAA-compliant manner.
- Assist in optimizing data workflows, ensuring that data is clean, accurate, and available for business intelligence and machine learning models.
- Data Integration and Management:
- Work closely with healthcare data sources (e.g., clinical systems, billing systems, insurance providers) to integrate and harmonize disparate datasets.
- Develop and implement data models to support business intelligence and analytics applications.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across multiple data sources by performing rigorous validation and reconciliation processes.
Cloud and Big Data Technologies:
- Leverage cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) to design and manage scalable data
- architectures.
- Utilize big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka to handle large-scale healthcare data processing needs.
- Ensure the deployment of data solutions that are cost-effective, scalable, and compliant with healthcare regulations.
Performance Optimization and Troubleshooting:
Identify and address performance bottlenecks in data processing and storage.
Optimize SQL queries, data models, and pipelines to ensure fast and reliable data delivery for analytics and reporting.
Troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues, processing errors, and performance issues in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on healthcare data or large-scale data systems.
- Experience with healthcare data sources (e.g. HL7, FHIR, claims data, medical imaging) is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (SQL Server preferred).
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, Bash) to automate data processes.
- Experience in entire Microsoft suite - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Forms, and Power Apps.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and tools (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
- High attention to detail, strong sense of ownership, and accountability for delivering high-quality work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and can manage multiple priorities effectively.
