What you’ll do…
We are seeking a highly organized, skilled and detail-oriented IT Business Analyst with a strong background in project management to join our team. This role will support the technology needs of our multi-location organization working closely with the clinical, operational and administrative areas of the business to identify requirements, manage IT requirements, assist with integrations, and ensure successful technology implementations across the organization.
This position is located at the GEDC Practice Support Center in Southfield, MI and would require an on-site presence 5 days per week.
Duties and Responsibilities…
- Analyze current workflows and recommend technology-driven process improvements
- Project Initiation and Planning
- Collaboration with stakeholders and users to understand project goals and identify business needs
- Creation and implementation of project management plans and ensuring transparency and alignment across teams
- Requirements Management
- Conducting interviews, workshops and surveys with stakeholders for the purpose of eliciting business requirements
- Business requirement analysis and documentation.
- "as-is" documentation and "to-be" documentation
- Translation of business needs into technical specification and user stories for development teams
- Managing requirements throughout the project lifecycle, including tracking changes, updates and approvals
- Final Business Rule documentation and end-user signoff
- Project Execution and Monitoring
- Serve as the main liaison between the business and technical teams to ensure a shared understanding of the project goals
- Risk and issue management
- Meeting facilitation and progress/finding communication
- Testing & Deployment
- Coordination of User Acceptance Testing
- Validate that delivered solutions meet the user requirements and assist in resolving any issues that arise
- Training material preparation and provide support during and after deployment to ensure a smooth transition for users
- Post Project Analysis
- Project outcome evaluation including but not limited to gathering feedback from users and stakeholders for continuous improvement and future projects
- Troubleshooting and working end-user tickets
- Coordination with the Learning & Development Team
- Coordination with the portion of the IT Business Analyst team that handles QA and end-user facing platforms such as the Patient Portal, Intranet and the Practice Management Application

- Communication - excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must. The ability to translate technical information into business terms and business terms into technical terms are highly important.
- Stakeholder Management - The ability to engage with, influence and manage diverse stakeholder interests and expectations.
- Time Management - Effective and efficient time management skills are a must in order to handle changing priorities, planning, delegation, boundaries and goal setting in order to meet deadlines.
- Problem Solving - a natural and analytical approach to solving problems creatively both independently and in a team setting.
- Analytical Thinking - must be able to identify and define problems, extract key information and develop workable solutions
- Adaptability - flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and business priorities.
- Change Management - Manages transition process to ensure new process or systems are adopted smoothly and facilitates change by articulating the benefits or the new solution and addressing resistance from end-users.
- Strong planning and organization skills as multiple concurrent projects will need to be prioritized effectively
- Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.), Smartsheet, Microsoft Teams
- Understanding of healthcare or dental practice operations is a strong plus
- SQL knowledge is a plus
What we require you have…
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Experience in healthcare, dental or health/dental insurance strongly preferred but not required
- 2+ years of experience in IT Business Analysis or project experience preferred but not required
