The Caterpillar Global Facilities and Corporate Real Estate team within the Indirect Services Organization is seeking a Data Analyst to enhance our data analytics capabilities. This role partners with Caterpillar’s Global IT strategic partner to enhance the office / building business operations of more than 1/3 of the office space globally throughout Caterpillar. Global Facilities plays a critical role in aligning Strategic Priorities and through their technology solutions serve as a catalyst for Caterpillar and Customers to build a better world.
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to design, implement, and manage our organization’s data architecture strategy. The Data Analyst will be responsible for developing data models, defining data standards, and ensuring that data is structured, stored, and integrated efficiently across systems. This role requires both technical expertise and strategic vision to align data initiatives with business objectives.
What You Will Do
- Data Strategy & Architecture
- Design and maintain the enterprise data architecture, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
- Define data standards, policies, and governance practices.
- Ensure scalability, performance, and security in data solutions.
- Data Modeling & Integration
- Develop relational, dimensional, and NoSQL data models to support applications, reporting, and analytics.
- Oversee data integration across platforms, including ETL/ELT pipelines, APIs, and streaming data.
- Collaborate with software engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure data solutions meet requirements.
- Data Management & Governance
- Establish and enforce data quality, metadata, and master data management practices.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA).
- Monitor data flows and resolve architecture-related issues.
- Technology & Innovation
- Evaluate and recommend modern data technologies, tools, and platforms (e.g., cloud data warehouses, data lakes, streaming platforms).
- Lead proof-of-concept projects for emerging data solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineering
What You Have
- Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
- Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
- Data Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Working knowledge of Gathering data from various sources and ensuring its accuracy and quality
- Data Analysis and Interpretation: Working knowledge of Analyzing data to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that can inform business decisions.
- Model Development: Basic knowledge of Building and validating predictive models using machine learning algorithms to solve specific business problems.
- Data Visualization: Working Knowledge of Creating visual representations of data to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Working closely with other teams, such as engineering, product, and business, to understand their data needs and provide actionable insights.
- Reporting: Generating reports and dashboards to present data findings in a clear and concise manner.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously refining and improving data analytics processes and methodologies.
- Staying Updated: Keeping up with the latest trends and advancements in data science and analytics to apply new techniques and tools.
Top Candidates Will Also Have
- Data Modeling and Snowflake experience
- Microsoft Power Platform and Excel intermediate capabilities
- Strong knowledge of M365 and familiarity with Power Bi & SharePoint
- Working knowledge with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.

- The primary locations for this position: Peoria IL or Irving TX
- This position may require up to 5-10% travel.

Summary Pay Range
$87,480.00 - $142,200.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
