Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and results-driven Azure data and analytics engineer to develop and manage cloud-based data solutions. This role focuses on building scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, managing cloud resources in Microsoft Azure, and delivering impactful visualizations through Power BI. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud data architecture, ETL processes, data analysis, and business intelligence.
This role will support analysis, reporting, and quality control of data from the Army's real property reporting system, the Headquarters Installation Information System (HQIIS). Given this, we desire someone with experience with Army real property and installation management systems, policies, and processes.
Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory to support data integration, analysis, and reporting needs.

Architect and manage cloud-based data solutions using Microsoft Azure Government services such as Azure SQL Database, blob storage, and related Azure resources.

Create and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to stakeholders.

Collaborate with data analysts, engineers, and HQIIS users to understand data requirements and deliver scalable solutions.

Monitor and optimize data workflows for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.

Ensure data governance, security, and compliance across all Azure-based solutions.

Automate data refreshes, report generation, and scripting tools.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications

3+ years of experience working with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Data Factory.

Strong proficiency in data modeling, T-SQL, and data transformation techniques.

3+ years of experience with Power BI report development, DAX, and data visualization best practices.

Familiarity with Azure services such as Azure SQL, storage accounts, networking, and Key Vault.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.

An understanding of Army real property management concepts, including understanding the life cycle of a real property asset, an awareness of data elements and data types managed as part of the real property inventory, and a familiarity with real property guidance and directives (including DoD’s Real Property Information Model and Real Property Categorization System).
Preferred Qualifications

Microsoft certifications such as Azure Data Engineer Associate/Fabric Data Engineer Associate or Power BI Data Analyst Associate.

Knowledge of Python, PowerShell, or other scripting languages for automation.

Understanding of data governance frameworks and cloud security principles.

Experience with Azure Government.

Experience in an Army or DoD Directorate of Public Works (DPW) or real property environment and a working knowledge of DoD and Army DPW and real property operations.
