Business Overview:
The ITO Data Analyst works within the BNP Paribas CIB organization to provide data analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions across functional areas. The data analyst is expected to help drive business results with analytical insights, automate manual processes and deliver better products leveraging bank’s vast amount of data and advanced data technologies. The primary focus will be to gather technical requirements, demonstrate the business cases, apply data mining techniques, perform statistical analysis, and build high quality prediction systems integrated with our products and processes. The ideal candidate must have strong technical experience using a variety of Machine Learning and Data Analytics methods and tools, building and implementing predictive models (regression, classification, text mining, unsupervised models, etc.). They will also be developing reporting tools to track business activities and monitor model performance. They must have the ability to interpret and visualize technical findings to stakeholders and be comfortable working with a wide range of functional teams.

Responsibilities:
- Discover and identify opportunities to leverage bank data and apply Data Analytics / Artificial Intelligence technology to improve business outcomes and processes.
- Mine and analyze vast amount of data from variable databases to reveal analytical insights, and drive process optimization.
- Develop state-of-the-art RAG pipeline, Agentic AI models to achieve operational efficiency, optimize customer experiences, and other business outcomes.
- Perform technical testing to ensure quality, efficiency, resilience of the models.
- Coordinate with various functional teams to implement data solutions.
- Develop data visualization and reporting tools to monitor and analyze model performance and other business activities.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Master’s in computer science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field, or equivalent work experience required.
- Knowledge and experience in working with various Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning techniques (regression, clustering, tree-based classifications, neural networks, text mining, unsupervised learning, etc.)
- Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in libraries such as langchain, vector database, pandas, NumPy, Streamlit, Plotly, Seaborn.
- Experience implementing NLP and Named Entity Recognition (NER) models using Python and related libraries.
- Excellent understanding of statistical concepts and techniques (probabilities, property of distribution, statistical tests, optimization, feature selection, regularization, etc.), and experience with applications
- Experience in data extraction using SQL, PL/SQL, and data transformation through Python scripts .
- Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
- Experience of data visualization and reporting tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, Business Objects, etc.
- Experience in business analysis, strong problem solving/troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
- A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in data / computer science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.
- Experience in NLP and Named Entity Recognition (NER) models using Python.
- Experience working with large datasets, in both Relational Database (RDBMS).
- Experience working at financial institutions or knowledge of financial products or technical experience with financial datasets.

The expected starting salary range for this position is between $95k to $105k annually. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
