Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mobile Application Developer to lead the mobile technical execution of a critical integration project: “One Red integration into HydroData and ProducerConnect.” This role will focus on building robust, scalable iOS and Android applications to seamlessly connect these systems on mobile devices, enhancing field data capture, real-time synchronization, and mapping visualizations for our agricultural SaaS platform. As a project-based hire, you'll contribute to a high-impact initiative with the opportunity to transition to a permanent role if the project extends based on success and business needs.
This is an 8-month engagement starting November 1, 2025, with hands-on development in a collaborative Agile environment using tools like Jira and Git. Ideal candidates bring senior-level expertise in Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android, with a passion for solving complex mobile integration and mapping challenges in data-heavy, geospatial domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement mobile API integrations between One Red, HydroData, and ProducerConnect, ensuring secure and seamless data synchronization across iOS and Android platforms.
- Develop and optimize native mobile UI components using Swift (iOS) and Kotlin (Android) to create intuitive interfaces for data entry, visualization, and user workflows.
- Build scalable mobile services to handle offline data processing, error handling, and performance tuning, with seamless backend connectivity.
- Integrate advanced mapping features into mobile apps, leveraging location services for geospatial data display, routing, and field annotations in water resource management scenarios.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, QA, and stakeholders) to define requirements, conduct code reviews, and deliver milestones on time.
- Write clean, maintainable code with comprehensive testing (unit, integration, and end-to-end) using frameworks like XCTest (iOS), JUnit (Android), or equivalents.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production environments, leveraging mobile monitoring tools to maintain app reliability and user experience.
- Document code, APIs, and deployment processes to facilitate knowledge transfer and future scalability.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and retrospectives.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years in mobile application development, with at least 3 years in senior or lead roles involving cross-platform iOS and Android projects.
- Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in Swift for iOS app development, including UIKit/SwiftUI, Core Data, and networking with URLSession.
o Strong experience with Kotlin for Android development, including Jetpack Compose, Room, and Retrofit for API interactions.
o Required experience with mapping on mobile applications, such as MapKit (iOS) and Google Maps SDK (Android), for handling geospatial queries, overlays, and location-based features.
o Familiarity with integration tools (e.g., Firebase for cross-platform sync) and deployment platforms (e.g., App Store Connect, Google Play Console).
o Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like Jira, Git, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Fastlane, Gradle).
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication for technical and non-technical audiences, and a proactive approach to project delivery.
- Nice-to-Have: Experience in the Water Resources or agricultural tech sector; familiarity with GIS/mapping libraries (e.g., ArcGIS Runtime SDK for mobile, Mapbox); prior work on forms-heavy or data-intensive mobile SaaS applications.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Other: Ability to commute to Johnstown, CO; U.S. work authorization required.
