Software Engineer - Large Scale Distributed Systems
Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid) / 1 day per week.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Software Engineer build the distributed systems, backend platforms, and core infrastructure that power world class quant research.
You’ll design, build, and scale services that enable researchers and portfolio managers to work with massive amounts of data efficiently and reliably. This is a hands-on engineering role with wide technical scope and direct business impact.
What You’ll Do
- Design and implement high-performance, reliable systems for large-scale data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration.
- Build core services and frameworks that improve observability, automation, and developer experience across the firm.
- Collaborate with researchers, data engineers, and platform teams to deliver scalable solutions that accelerate research and production workflows.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience (Python, Java or similar)
- Strong background in backend systems, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, or data platform engineering.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, or related technologies.
- Solid understanding of system design, scalability, and performance optimization.
