The Business Intelligence Analyst I will play a vital role in supporting data-driven strategies across the organization. This position will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data from a variety of sources to empower business leaders with actionable insights. Working under the guidance of senior analysts and departmental leadership, the BI Analyst I will utilize industry-standard tools such as Tableau to create clear and impactful reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
The analyst will collaborate closely with stakeholders from multiple departments to understand business needs, translating them into effective BI solutions. With a keen attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy, this role will contribute to the continuous improvement of business processes, member experience, and organizational performance. The BI Analyst I will also be expected to adhere to data privacy standards and best practices, demonstrating a proactive and solution-oriented approach while working as part of a dynamic, collaborative team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Develop, deploy, and support business intelligence and data analytics, interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and providing ongoing reports.

Support the data systems request queue, ensuring the needs of the business are being met in a timely and exceptional manner.

Gather and document line of business/department reporting requirements. Begin to lead the design and development of new and improved processes, tools and system enhancements to support business unit data requirements. Monitor production incidents to ensure business SLAs are consistently met.

Present information to project management teams, lines of business and organizational leadership through reports, data visualization, and statistical analysis.

Provide direct end-user training on data reporting, use and procedures of visualization tools.

Filter/clean data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.

Facilitate and create detailed documentation (design specification, data mapping, and data flow) as needed to support the data management and reporting processes.

Research best practices and analyze current processes, tools, system or database and make recommendations for development and system improvement.

Support other IT teams regarding data systems and data analytics.

Follow safety and security rules and regulations.

Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

Occasionally respond to alerts or planned maintenance outside regularly scheduled hours
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Mathematics, or a related field.
OR
-
2+ years of experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role (preferably within the financial services or credit union industry).
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, or similar tools

Knowledge of SQL for querying and manipulating data from databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, or Oracle).
SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

Familiarity with data visualization best practices and dashboard design.

Experience working in an office environment and navigating collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, and Outlook scheduling assistant and automatic replies to show consideration of others’ time

Ability to manage multiple work-streams, including emergency support tasks, and communicate roadblocks or concerns for maintaining progress on scheduled projects and tasks

Ability to work well in a dynamic and changing environment, and adapt quickly to new conditions and priorities

Ability to recognize and define problems, research and establish facts, communicate and resolve issues and problems promptly.

Adherence to relevant Financial Industry, Credit Union, and Cybersecurity/Data Privacy regulations, policies, and procedures to protect our members’ data and our organizational reputation
