Job Overview
As an Data Platform Engineer on the Shared Data Platform team at Arrowstreet Capital, you will help develop and support key services that make it easier to bring new data sources into our business and turn them into valuable analytics. You will work closely with colleagues from different departments to understand their data needs and help improve how data moves across the company. In this role, you will contribute to building and optimizing code, including developing data platform endpoints and creating flexible tools that can be adapted for a variety of internal requirements.
Responsibilities
Support the development and maintenance of the data platform, working with both batch and real-time data using modern data processing frameworks.
Help build and improve features for data discovery, lineage, governance, data ingestion, and platform performance.
Participate in evaluating new data technologies and frameworks to identify potential improvements for the platform.
Assist with production support to help ensure the platform runs smoothly and avoids disruptions to business processes.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to learn about their data needs and help translate requirements into effective data solutions.
Work with IT operations and cloud security teams to help ensure that platform solutions are secure and reliable.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline
At least 2 years of experience working in software services, experience working in data management systems is a plus
You write logical, maintainable, performant code
You are fluent in at least one major programming language (e.g. Python, Java, Scala)
Hands-on experience working with one of the major cloud providers (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP), and automation through infrastructure as code with one of the Terraform, Cloudformation and CDK etc.
The base salary range for this position is $105,000 - $175,000 per year.
