Position Highlights:
- This position is essential to supporting the collaborative research efforts between the Department of GI Surgical Oncology/Gastroenterology and the Department of Biostatistics & Bioinformatics.
- Will support the following projects: HepTrAIL initiative (Hepatobiliary translational and clinical research program) and GI Surgical Oncology investigator-initiated studies (liver, pancreas, gastroesophageal, colorectal, neuroendocrine, and peritoneal).
The Ideal Candidate:
- Strong attention to detail with demonstrated ability to manage, clean, and harmonize clinical and real-world datasets.
- Effective communicator with the ability to work collaboratively with clinicians, data managers, and biostatisticians.
- Demonstrated interest in cancer research and commitment to methodological rigor and reproducible science.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain datasets, perform quality checks, and assist with data integration.
- Prepare statistical results, tables, and figures for abstracts, manuscripts, and grant submissions.
- Work under the supervision of a faculty biostatistician (Dr. Vivien Yin) to ensure adherence to best practices in statistical design, analysis, and reproducibility.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to study design discussions.
Credentials and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biostatistics, statistics, mathematics, data science or related field with 5 years of relevant experience required.
- Master's degree in biostatistics, statistics, mathematics, data science or related field with no relevant experience will be considered.
- Experience with statistical software (SAS and R)is required, experience with Python is preferred.
