Key Responsibilities:
Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst with strong expertise in SQL, Python, and AWS to support analytics and reporting needs in the banking domain. This role requires working closely with business stakeholders, analyzing large financial datasets, and delivering insights that drive business and regulatory decisions. Strong communication skills and the ability to quickly understand banking processes are essential, as you will work directly with clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and analyze requirements from banking stakeholders (risk, compliance, operations, payments, etc.).
- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries to extract and analyze structured/unstructured financial data.
- Use Python for data wrangling, automation, reporting scripts, and advanced analytics.
- Work within AWS environments (S3, Redshift, RDS, Lambda, Glue) for data storage, transformation, and analysis.
- Build reports and dashboards to support regulatory reporting, fraud analysis, customer insights, and performance monitoring.
- Ensure data quality and governance across multiple banking systems.
- Present findings and insights to clients and stakeholders in a clear, actionable manner.
- Quickly adapt to new tools, requirements, and banking processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in SQL (queries, joins, aggregations, optimization).
- Hands-on experience with Python for data analysis and automation.
- Experience with AWS cloud services (S3, Redshift, RDS, Glue preferred).
- Solid understanding of banking/financial services data (transactions, risk, AML/KYC, compliance).
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Ability to pick up work quickly and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
Location: Richmond, VA / McLean, VA
Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $50,320 – $62,240 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
