Join a cutting-edge team developing software for advanced optical systems! We're seeking a Direct Hire C/C++ Software Engineer with hands-on hardware experience (sensors, cameras, stages) and strong Linux skills. Tucson-based. U.S. citizenship required.
This is an onsite role in Tucson, AZ, focused on developing and maintaining software applications for advanced optical and control systems.
Must be a US Persons- No Sponsorship now or in the future for this role.
Key Requirements:
- 5+ experience (relevant degree may count toward experience)
- Proficiency in C/C++ and Linux command-line interface
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with Git version control
- Direct experience with hardware communication protocols and device integration
- Familiarity with FPGA and GPU (CUDA) technologies
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSc or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (Associates degree considered with experience)
- Strong math and analytical skills
- Experience with scripting languages such as Julia
- Knowledge of high-speed control systems
- Background in computer vision, image processing, or DSP
- Interest in astronomy and laser communications
Responsibilities:
- Analyze, maintain, and improve existing software applications
- Collaborate on the development of new software modules and system enhancements
- Debug and resolve software issues across hardware interfaces
- Develop software components aligned with project schedules
- Create and maintain technical documentation and specifications
- Engage with customers through briefings, presentations, and technical meetings
