The Business Data Analyst serves as a critical bridge between technology and business operations. Key Responsibilities and Phased Development
This role is structured for career development and will evolve significantly over the first year, providing rapid skill acquisition:
Phase 1: IT & Systems Support (First 30-60 Days)
- Serve as the sole Tier 1 IT Support resource for the entire organization, addressing and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues efficiently.
- Manage user accounts, troubleshoot application errors, and maintain system stability.
- Ensure all staff are proficiently utilizing the full Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams).
Phase 2: Business Intelligence Maintenance (60-120 Days)
- Take ownership of the custom-built Business Intelligence (BI) Dashboard.
- Perform maintenance and enhancement tasks on the dashboard, including adding new columns, configuring visualizations, and verifying data accuracy.
- Edit and refine SQL queries to pull and integrate data from various source systems, ensuring reliable reporting.
Phase 3: Business Process Optimization (120+ Days)
- Collaborate with department leads to deeply understand current business processes and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Become proficient in organizational systems, specifically KIPU, to identify opportunities for data-driven value addition and operational efficiency.
- Proactively suggest and implement process improvements based on data analysis.
Required Qualifications
- A sharp, technical mind with a clear aptitude for troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Proficiency and strong working knowledge of the full Microsoft Office Suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
- Foundational understanding of SQL and relational database concepts, or a strong willingness to learn and develop these skills rapidly.
- Familiarity with or a foundational understanding of Business Intelligence tools (such as Power BI) and data visualization principles.
- A strong, positive mindset characterized by devotion and a genuine desire to help people and support the organization's mission.
Highly Desired Skills (Huge Pluses)
- Familiarity with or an enthusiastic interest in developing and managing reports in Microsoft Power BI.
